View Full Version : LON VMA gurus? Having some issues
We completed a core/shell building that was chuck full of these hatefull lon VMA controller (1200s or 1210s i think). We have done jobs with them before but not for quite some time.
Our main issue is response time. They are dreadfully slow to ramp up the air flow and even slower to switch from cooling to heating or heating to cooling.
Does anyone have any good tips on making them react faster?

Why are they hatefull?
I just put them at the bottom of the list as far as what I would choose. The N2 version works very nice and simple but the lon version didn't seem to translate very well in my opinion. They also stopped producing them now which makes them even more annoying.

There are a TON of saturation timers that can be changed to speed things up (default on most of them is 600 seconds I think). PID could be better than default too. I would not recommend using these with electric reheat unless you like getting spanked by customers and bent over... That's my two cents.
Heh. Yes we are currently getting spanked :) I'm going there tomorrow to look into it. Do you recall if the saturation timers can be accessed through lon or are they only available to change before you download the application?

Unfortunately only when you download. I think you can change them live but I seem to remember it takes way to long because the controller resets after each change.
