M3 is/was the worst. Guy's with 20 years of experience couldn't make it work. So, yes I'd say it's pretty hard.
And a non for profit would still need a license, so scamming software for a good cause is still illegal. With that said, I doubt anyone would come hunting down a M3 user. :)
The software does require a site key....so be careful if someone gives/sells you a copy.

thks but not scamming for software??? abit harsh without basis
anyone have knowledge on this software's capability? usefulness?
the n30 is very difficult to manage and improved useability might allow it to be used more efficiently
thanks

To be blunt...It sucks. Get a FX-60 and you will be much happier and probably spend less in the long run, by being married to a lousy troublesome platform.

You mentioned "not for profit". I took that to mean the customer wanted it for free. You included the comment, so I assumed it had something to do with the post. :)
By the way, do you know you can use hyper-terminal for free to access the N30?

I know Cleancondenser does this all the time. He can help you out!
We have done a few M3 setups but not with graphics. Just used the explorer thing which is just a mouse driven hyper terminal for the most part. We have done a full graphic M5 setup with N30s though but that job is a pain.
JCI should still sell it but there may be restrictions and grandfather bs to deal with. The license cost is high enough that the FX60 is probably a better option though.
