Interesting article, I think they are right on. I especially like the following paragraph;
“I’m not terribly excited about McCain being president, but I’m sure that Obama, if elected, will have a negative impact on business and the economy,” said one CEO voicing his lack of enthusiasm for either candidate, but particularly Obama.

Most CEO's are nothing like the heads of Fannie/Freddie/AIG. And many of them are heads of small business.
Oh and...most of the immigrant workers ARE employed by small business.

Neither party is interested in dealing with teh immigration problem, they see them as potential voters and friends/family of current voters.
Now, you are making too much of this. The ones who are working are contributing to the economy by being consumers. If/when they become legal they also pay taxes. Most of the jobs that they are filling are not wanted by anyone else, we're fat and lazy. The whole "they're taking our jobs" bit is mainly big labor propaganda.
The problem with illegal immigration is the strain they put on our entitlement/social programs. That could easily be changed if not for liberal members of the government that continue to use our tax dollars to busy votes. I'm really not a McCain fan, but he'snot one of the guys who caused this mess.

I wonder if these are the sames CEO's making 50 million, while their average employee makes $30,000.

Making too much out of it? I dont think so
From the Heritage Foundation, as conservative as it gets:
"When three out of every 100 people in America are undocumented (or, rather, documented with forged and faked papers), there is a profound security problem"
"Even though they pose no direct security threat, the presence of millions of undocumented migrants distorts the law, distracts resources, and effectively creates a cover for terrorists and criminals."

And it also has severely crippled the heavy construction industry of which I am a part of:mad:

Me thinks you guys watch too much CNN. You're only thinking of huge mega-corporations, a lot of CEO's are heads of very modest sized companies that are just trying to make a living. These guys and gals put their pants on same as we do.

I never said it wasn't a problem, but it isn't the end of the world. And things like rounding them all up or building a wall on the border isn't going to fix it.
As long as we make free benefits available, people will take advantage of them. The answer is to remove the bait, and the feeding will stop.
I will also point out that if we made all illegal immigrants vanish tomorrow, the economy would really tank. I don't approve of them being here illegally, but the fact is that our economy has grown around them and they are making significant contributions to it.

Not at all. There is a middle ground called reason.
We have an immigration problem, that is not in question. But let's understand what the problem really is before we go off the deep end and create another problem that may be worse than the one we're trying to solve.
