Ok, I have experience working with tracker and summit, but it is limited. I am currently looking for a solution for a facility that has Summit BMTS with version 10 software. Would these BCU's be capable of bacnet over ip for integration or not? Or would it be best to start anew? Like I said, I haven't a clue at the present moment, couldn't even tell you what BMTS stands for. I know its old and thats bout it. Thanks in advance.

Hahaha, knew he had something to do with it. It has a huge ecological footprint.
BMTS will not do bacnet/IP out of the box, the BTMW and BTMX will accept a static IP. You will need to install a Bacnet router for the S, then it will work fine.
Wait a minute you have a BTMS...I thought I remeber reading in a thread somewhere on this site Trane stuff only last about 5 years...

Can you still buy parts for the BMTS system? Or replace it if it goes belly up?

not bashing Trane, deserved or not. Question stands. Anyone know?
Have not seen one in years but I doubt it. It was replaced by the BTMW and currently the BTMX and soon to be SC.

Some parts yes, other parts I would assume no. Parts like the motherboard I would assume are no longer available. The comm cards are still available.

Cool, nothing wrong with the existing one so far, just curious as to availability if it does go walkabout. Thanks a bushel ton.

Isa cardslot stuff is getting hard to find the com cards aren't available anymore(Like you'd ever need one they never fail) sounds like you've found a workaround for the Bacnet IP problem other than the fact that it wont do Lontalk you should be good. Trane does offer a program for upgrading a BMTW or BMTS to a BMTX which is a box that will be supported for a long time. and no we dont all tell you to throw it out after 5 years some of us know how to work on controls!!!!

I just bought a comm 4 board and I know you can still get the dedicated ethernet chips, we have also been using (MP581's on BMTS BCU's)
no it doesn't do lon but Field Server will do lon to bacnet/arcnet or bacnet/ethernet no problem. I agree with the isa stuff being hard to find though.

Dude the modular BCU died in july no new parts are being made so what is laid up in some parts center or warehouse is it and you are going around the world to install a fieldserver box so an outdated BCU will do LON??? the field server and programming was probably 75% the cost of a new BCU and now your customer has something that he can't get parts for. I'd be a little upset. not to mention there is no way to utilize LON to its potential this way you cant use profiles and now you are mapping TONS of points to create a simple graphic and the fieldserver updates so slow you may as well put in some KMC crap.
