It won't be the first time he bet on a scheme and got his clock cleaned.

Here's he thing about T-Bone...whether he's right or wrong, he's out for himself.

He will not live long enough to see any return on the investment

ya, I bet he looked at his balance sheet, then his P&L statement and said "damn, I'm down to my last 30 billion {} I hope I can afford my utility bill next month"

I still think he is a shill for Obama. His energy plan is just like the Democrats and it's not economically feasible. We should go nuke, coal and drill everywhere and anywhere for oil.

You got that right.

Unlike government plans, T-Boon's plan involves a lot of his own money. I have a lot of respect for T-Boon because he's puts his money where his mouth is. Wind power has proven to be viable in other countries, it provides a large percentage of electrical power in Denmark.
I agree that it requires a huge up front investment and is a long term approach.
He won't make his money back during his lifetime unless energy costs skyrocket.
We all expect energy costs to climb, his boondoggle may turn out to be a lot smarter than it looks today. At least he hasn't come up with some pie in the sky plan and expects everyone else to pay for it involuntarily.

People do a lot of things based on goals other than return on investment.
I think he wants to put his money in wind energy because it's right for the country in the long term. Perhaps he's looking at it as a gift to the country instead of a way to make a buck.
Much in the same way that Warren Buffet is giving his wealth to charity upon his death.
It's in the tradition of Andrew Carnegie and other wealthy philantropists.
