:confused:Recently replaced a Tracker 12 Panel. Was able to configure system to operate all connected equipment as needed. Problem is getting customer's server/network to discover the panel and the panel to discover network so they can use a PC to monitor system from another office. Latest PC software installed but not relevant to the panel and network setup for now since that is initially done at the panel, I believe. Can operate system from panel (settings, make changes, etc.) Had customer's IT rep with me today to check connections, wiring, etc. on the server side of system--all OK. Ethernet card on Tracker indicators are blinking (yellow and green) but cannot make connection to network. Checked DHCP settings, subnet mask settings, UCP port settings, etc. Still cannot connect. Tried a reboot, same problem. Tried to use another modem and enabled DHCP, but still not connecting (they need to have DHCP set to disable as they need a static IP address). May be having problem at the main board of the Tracker panel and it's ethernet card. Called Trane tech support and they will get back to me on Monday with an answer. I feel we may have a bad board and might need to swap it out (only 1 month old.) Any suggestions?

Sorry, I got lost in your question, did you say that you had put the IP information into the new tracker panel? If so, then it possibly could be a bad board. Can you ping the panel when connected to the network? What happened to the original board? It could be related.

Home>Advanced>Service and Testing>Test Tracker Remote Communications>Test Network
What results appear in the Tracker Network Test screen? Does the Tracker see its Ethernet module? If it is normal, verify the server has the correct MAC address. Is the IP address displayed the proper static IP that IT has assigned?

When the network tries to ping the panel, it is not seen on the network. Conversely, the panel will not see the network when a network test is run. All information is coming up zero's on the test result screen. Leaning to a possible bad board even though it is only one month old.

The original panel, with board inside, was vandalized. It was punched by one of the residents of the site it is located in (a common hallway--bad location!) It was literally in pieces! Surprised the original lasted as long as it did. We reinstalled the new board in a locked IT room where it could not be touched. We didn't do the original install three years ago. Everything worked fine before it was vandalized. We have this site under a maintenace contract. IT static address is correct as we try to program the panel.

Prolly a stupid suggestion since you said IT was with you but if you get a laptop can you plug into to the same cable the tracker is on and can that laptop hit the network ok and receive a IP and ping items on the network?
If the laptop works and you plug the cable right back in the tracker and it wont work then i say the board is bad.

No question is stupid enough if it helps lead you into the right direction. A laptop was connected and able to ping the network through the same cable connected to the Tracker panel, thus the board seems to be the culprit. Trane tech support gave us the go-ahead to order another board under warranty. It is about 3-4 weeks out before we receive a new board since it is manufactured upon order. I'll keep you posted. As long as the building comfort is still being controlled by this panel, it's not an emergency to replace. The only inconvenience right now is that the maintenance dept. can't change anything remotely, only at the panel.
