While Todd Palin's role in the dismissal of Monegan is unknown, the request for a subpoena suggests he spurned earlier calls to testify voluntarily.
Could just be a witch hunt between Democrats, for obvious reasons, and the corrupt Republicans that Palin bucked up against over the past several years. From the evidence presented so far, this is pretty much what it seems like.
Just like your posts, there nothing of any value with the accusations against Governor Palin.

She already has when she ousted the worst of them in Alaska. Now they are trying to get even by joining with Democrats to try to make her look as if she may have done something wrong by pressuring a corrupt police commisioner to do his job.

All accusations, nothing more at this time. I can accuse you of having common sense but that certainly doesn't make it a fact.

Witch hunt's alway's cost the taxpayer's no matter who's doing it. The sad thing is for the most part the hunters could care less. Their only objective is trying to make themselves look good while smearing the opponent. Free publicity is the name of the game.
As far as Mrs.Palin's possible involvment, it's pretty much a no brainer in my opinion. As Governor she could have made it happen easily had she wanted to. She didn't or her former brother in law would be gone.
Just think, this matter could have been disposed of Clinton style and everyone would be happy!

"There's nothing to hide," she said in an interview with ABC's Charles Gibson. "Commissioner Monegan has said, 'The governor never asked me to fire him, the governor's husband never asked me to fire him,' and we never did. I never pressured him to hire or fire anybody."
The democrats and their supporters in Alaska are simply pissed because Palin cleaned house and removed some dead weight from admin.;)

Have you seen the 'confessions' by this trooper? How he tasered his 10 year old step-son (jokingly of course--all a big lark), how he broke the law by shooting a moose and using his wife's moose tag? He was also accused of drinking while driving a patrol car (which he denies)...why does this guy still have a job anyway? Are troopers that hard to find that they have to keep on people who break the law?
Also, the claims that are in question weren't unemployment (how could they be, he is still employed!) they were about a worker's comp claim.
Now, if you wanna biatch about a subject maybe you should get at least one or two of the facts about it first...it's really not that hard.

UUUUUNNNNNNN! Wrong again.
Geez!
The dude still has his job. It is the COMMISSIONER who does not. And the contention is that HE was fired because he wouldn't fire the trooper/ex-brother-in-law. But, the commissioner himself says neither the Governor nor her husband ever asked him to fire the trooper.
Wake up and get with the program if you're going to attempt discussing it.

The trooper is a child abuser and is not fit to wear a badge.
He belongs in black and white striped fatigues.
I say, let those democrat pukes in Alaska subpoena their little hearts out. It won't make a bit of difference.
The buck stops with Palin and she's clean as a whistle and hot as a firecracker.:p

The democrats have so many bullet holes in their feet because these Hollywood types get in front of a camera and then start trying to support them.
Who gives a rat's behind what these people say or think?
They are as far away from the middle class as it gets.

This nutty trooper used a Taser on a small child and was not imprisoned. He made death threats against Palin family members and is still on the force today. The Governor was asked about the matter and commented their concerns for family safety. Sounds reasonble to me given the circumstances. I think the larger issue is why this trooper is not in jail. Palin could have brought pressure to do just that but withheld for fear of being labeled as abuse of power. She has put her family at risk to please all the weenies out there trying to bash her for stating facts about being threatened. Given the circumstances, what would YOU have her do? Sit quietly and wait for this nut to attack a family member AGAIN? Say something to law enforcement and be branded as an abuser of power? Take your pick. She had to.

What are you attempting to say with this thread mancow? I don't understand what your intent is. We all know that the corrupt Republicans that Palin has defeated in politics have joined with the Democrats in order to hurt Palin. We all know that it is public record that Palin's brother in law did some things that were against the law and he was not held accountable for. We all know that Palin urged the authorities, as a citizen on her personal email, to do their job and discipline the loose cannon trooper who just happened to be her ex-brother in law.
A subpoena is nothing. I've been subpoena'd several times over the years for civil hearings as well as for hearings involving products I've been involved with. A subpoena is just an invitation to court that you can't refuse:rolleyes:

Uh, the guy actually has admitted several of these things. He was 'disciplined' but not 'retired'. And, this wasn't the first time he was disciplined either.
So, you're all for a guy that admits he used a taser on a 10 year old (he admitted that wasn't the best judgment he'd ever made) to be immune from prosecution? At least that's the way the witch hunt against Palin looks.

That's because it was corrupt fellow Republicans that Governor Palin went after. This is just more proof that she is a tough leader who is not afraid to buck her own party to do what is right. She is definitely the (wo)man for the job.

Are you really this ignorant of the facts? It was Palin's own party that she pissed off! Republicans that Palin bucked up against are now joining Democrats in their lame and low life attempts to smear Palin.

1. If THAT is all they have, they are desperate......"clutching at straws" comes to mind......
2. Since they are beating this drum so loudly, its all they have.
I really wish that all of the candidates would just stick to discussing the issues.....americans are smart enough to figure the rest out, without the "help" of the media.
