...terrorists flew airliners into crowded US buildings killing thousands of innocent human beings.
What are you doing today in remembrance of those who suffered or died in that horrible attack?
I'll be lifting up prayers to honor the dead and comfort those hurt by it. I will also be praying that our country's leaders always put our safety first and foremost.
I ask that we use this thread to honor the victims of 9/11 and not as a political tool. Start a different thread if you want to go there.

I'm doing my best to put it behind me. I will pray for those who died, like I do everyday. I will ask the Creator to comfort those who lost family and friends, like I do everyday But as a true christian, I have to forgive those who harmed us in order to forget.

You make a good point there: Forgiveness is not about the other party, it is about myself. Forgiving someone sets me free from a subtle emotional link to the one that 'wronged' me. Hanging on to it drags one down, and will poison their life. I realize sometimes it feels wrong to forgive, but it is the best route.
Having said all this, I also think we need to learn from the circumstances. But as Fridge asked, that is a different thread. Sooo:
Thank you FatherGod for taking care of this country. Please comfort the families of the survivors and draw them towards Your love. And teach us to practice Your wisdom in forgiving the ones that wronged our country and our fellow Americans, while we move forward in making choices to prevent this happening again. All praise and glory and honor goes to You. In Jesus name, Amen.

I was about to leave the house at O'dark thirty........turned on the radio, and immediately realized that I had forgotten to place the flag on the front of my house. (Dont have a pole, or it would be at half-staff)
for a fleeting instant, I thought, "ah, heck, who is gonna notice? Im late, the illegals wont care, whats the difference?"
yeah. Sad, eh?
However, I then realized how many times I have said, "we will never forget".
I thought to myself, you have to walk the walk.
Shut off the beast, woke up the wifey opening the garage......woke up the neighbors when the alarm on the truck sounded. Nice.
Hung the flag, gave her a quick salute, and roared off. Spent my time at the traffic signals paying homage to all those innocent men and women in the Towers, all those who responded, all of those who serve, and all those related to those above, AMEN.

I honor the victims with prayer and by vowing never to forget how important the security of our country is to the people who are it's citizens.
