If you have a BCU and WebOps do you need the summit software?

If so how can I access the system.

Yes and no...
Yes to connect to and view/edit the information in the BCU, no to just connect to the webops and view what ever data is available and editable.

To access the system, this depends. Is it on the customers network?(most likely since there is a WebOps) If so, you need their network access.

Yes it is on a customers network.

So if i take my laptop and open up my IE and I know the IP, I can sign on.
On the customers network of course.

Does the BCU have a mac address I can ping?

What is the default sign on information?

Anyone have any literature they can email me.

Thank you so far.

The default username is Tracer and the default password is Summit, this is for both Summit and the WebOps. The BCU does have a MAC address, but you will probably ping the IP address of the BCU, you can use hyperterminal/melowterminal to view the network config, or use the IP validation or BCUconfig utilities to view/modify the network config.

infortunatly if u don't have a password and username with rights u won't be able to edit anything. Usally the default is changed to a view only then the only way to hack back in is to call tech support and they will give you a long method to work into it. Does the dust have a copy of the summit software. 1-877-87t-rand is tech support , email me and I will give u a name to try using to have them talk to u.
