Sorry for my ignorance but how do I can write a type translator for that a controller can read a snvt that is in another network. I have an ilon 100 that is my interface for a network (base bulding) and I have another network with an ilon 600 as an interface (office tower). Basicly I want a snvt to get trough from a controler (distech) to another (also distech) that are in separates network. If I only do a binding the controler doesn't seem to receive the snvt.
Thanks in advance,
Simon

I have not bound snvts over IP through an ilon, but in reading the documentation and licensing requirements your ilon 100 must have licensing to allow for SNVTs via IP. I've always used the Loytec LIP's to bind SNVTs via IP. Maybe Sysint or other can enlighten us more.
I would also like to know what your signature means?

My english must be really bad, that means that I only worked with distech products so far. I removed it anyway cause that's not the case anymore.
Controllers do communicate trough loytec routers as well, I think I'll post a picture of the network tommorow if I want a clearer answer.

If this system is set up correctly, there should be only one network with both buildings on different channels plus an IP channel to connect the two. The iLON100 would need IP852 capability enabled and Configuration Server would have to be run to let the routers know how to connect. So, first question: Is there one database or two? If there are two, it's not set up correctly and you'll need to create the channels and combine the two databases. If there is one, all you need to do is create an NVE (I'm assuming an iLON100 e3) for the point you want as the input for your type translator and you'll need to create an NVL (a dynamic network variable) for the output of the type translator. Comprenez-vous?

Hi, thanks for the replies, I'm posting the drawing of the network, basicly, it's 5 buildings communicating together underground with a commercial center anda parking, so it's a big network, part of the main building was already installed before I started the job. I don't know much about Ilons so I think I'll take a look at echelon's website.
There's only one database, but the office tower as 43 controllers per floor so we did a backbone in 1250 trough a ilon 600, and each floor as a loytec router to pass from 1250 to FT-10.
The thing is, I can't get a snvt from the 26th floor to get to a controller in the base building. I know there's a way to do it cause the installation that was already there did it. One controller in the base building share snvt with one in upper floors of the office tower. Now, all the snvt available in this controller have been taken, so I need to find how they did it.
Also, how can I know the version of the ilon 100 ? I use lonwatcher 3.0. I'm not really familiar with html.
Any help is would be really appreciated.

Are you really looking to use a type translator (convert one SVNT type to another type) OR are you just trying to bind two SNVT's of the same type together?

...If I only do a binding the controller doesn't seem to receive the snvt. Simon Simon, if you are binding the variables and the software allows you to do so you have a different issue if the SNVT isn't passing data.
If you don't have Loytec's software, pick it up and examine your network. (LPA Protocol manager)
"Also, how can I know the version of the ilon 100 ? I use lonwatcher 3.0. I'm not really familiar with html."
Telnet into the box if you know user/pass. Otherwise you need to connect directly to it and utilize hyperterminal. Later ilon 100's have routing capability if it's purchased, so that ilon100 can double as a router.
Not being overly familiar with Lonwatcher - but you should be able to see the address assignments of all the devices in some nice spreadsheet (I'm thinking).
