I have two air handlers in the attic and both air filter covers have the same problem... one side won't stay closed.

The "tabbed" part that is supposed to slip into the "slot" won't stay in the slot. It closes loosely but soon comes out.

Is there an easy fix to this? Do I need to call in my HVAC pro to have it fixed?

Functionally the air filter gets pulled up into position once the unit kicks in but this sure does look ugly.

The attached pic shows what it is I am trying to convey. The tab (A) has little to no pressure on it in the slot (B) and it will not stay in place more than a day or so.

Thanks for your suggestions.

LOL

That has been my solution for the past year (though I've been using clear packing tape to disguise my lazyness).

I just thougt it was time to finally fix or get it fixed correctly.

The people who design filter doors figure if it gets to the job site they have done a good job.

That's where duct tape comes in, if it makes it air tight, mission accomplished
