Are there any minimum EER numbers required for commercial installs? And, what are some of the highest EER number units on the market these days. I'm mostly familiar with SEER numbers on smaller residential units. Thanks for any advice.

You need to check your local codes. Alot of jurisdictions have adopted ASHRAE 90.1 as the model energy code. That standard dictates minimum SEERs, based on equipment type, capacity, region & use of economisers.

Thank you! How odd. Federal standards for SEER numbers for residential installs, but local jurisdiction for commercial? And, do commercial jobs ever use SEER? Or just EER? 'Tis a mysterious universe indeed is HVAC.
