Does anyone have any idea how much a treatment company charges to check condenser water monthly and provide inhibitor, algaecide, biocide, ect. for a year's service agreement on a 300 ton machine and tower?

I seem to remember about $12,000 per year, all inclusive but that was many years ago.

Thanks,

Paul

Best to get a quote from a local, with prices of everything climbing its not worth taking a chance on unless you're only asking out of curiousity. But a grand a month sounds kinda high to me, but I never shopped for it. Usually left that to the customer.

Just looking for ball-park number for estimate I am preparing for potential project.

Local companies do not want to provide estimate because that would lock them out of the bid process later, due to municipality procedures.

Sounds like a rough way to do buis. I imagine its to cut down on undercutting first bids by later submittals who "get a peak at it", but makes it hard to estimate subs. Good luck.

With the info given, my guess would be about $3,500 to $5,500 per year.

That's in the range that I am paying.

The chiller tonnage doesn't matter as much as the amount of water you go through. you don't say anything about how loaded the chiller is, how much it runs, etc.

The water use will typically be a reflection of the actual load the chiller picks up. That can very widely, even given a specific chiller size.

The water treatment equipment will typically have a water meter involved, because inhibitor is typically injected based upon water usage.
