Thanks Crackertech...you beat me to the punch, but I'd like to add some more to that.
The Educational Forums (EF) are really for the guys in the trenches.
It's as the announcement says...
The Educational Forums are a comprehensive collection of educational and reference information for professionals in the HVACR industry.
It's a resource for all the stuff you need to know to do your job right, do it efficiently and profitably...and hopefully learning something to boot! :)
We have tons of manufacturer's information links that will direct you to the right source for the answers to the questions you need answers for.
The EF has hundreds of articles that focus of all aspects of HVACR that are easy to find and easy to read. Again, we hope you'll learn from that as well.
We have all of the old HVAC-Talk Quiz Questions compiled into their appropriate categories. You'll get to revisit all of these golden oldies along with the original discussion thread that accompanied them.
In addition, the EF has a new interactive quiz section, called the EF Challenge Quiz. Here we have new quizzes every week, again all dealing with specific areas of HVACR. You'll get to take the quiz, get instant result via a Private Massage and then check to see how you measure up against your fellow HVAC-Talkers! :)
The EF also has a huge Glossary of HVACR terminology and definitions that will again help the tech working in the field every day to expand his knowledge of his trade and profession.
Finally, we have set up the EF so you, a professional HVAC-Talk member, can contribute to the EF by submitting new links, articles, quiz questions and Glossary terms that you may have. This is the beauty of this whole idea, With 85,000 registered members we have a vast resource of potential information to make the HVAC-Talk Educational Forums the absolute, #1 best resource of anything on the web today.
This then, is what the Educational Forums are all about.

You guys are gonna love it.
And...it's an ongoing project. What you see on opening day will only continue growing, thanks to how the Educational Forum Committee (EFC) chose to structure the forums.
It was a lot of hard work by a group of dedicated people that made the dream come true. I am grateful to be part of such a project. See you all on the 5th...if you don't have pro status yet, don't miss out!

Of the ten currently active members of the Educational Forums Committee (EFC), there are four of us from the Sunshine State.
Let's just say Florida is well represented. :D

TWO DAYS AND A WAKE-UP TILL THE EDUCATIONAL FORUMS GO LIVE!!
Look for it to happen at 5 PM Eastern Daylight Time on 5 September 2008!
I'm confident that I speak on behalf of all of the Educational Forum Committee (EFC) in that we are overjoyed we have reached this milepost. The Educational Forums (EF) will not only go live on Friday, it will also continue improving and growing as time goes by. Our work is ongoing to assure the EF becomes and remains a premium online HVAC/R educational reference source.
See you on September 5!

looking for help with a question. I am currently taking an hvac/r class. after reading my 1 of 3 assigned chapters I am slightly confused in reviewing the chapter questions in the book. the chapter in question was on piping & tubing. The question is as follows and is a fill in the blank question. The ------ if it is air cooled ,must be located in an area where proper air supply is available. This is only a 4 page chapter, and I have read it 6 times searching for the answer. if anyone can help please reply a.s.a.p. THANK YOU

A near universal response to the EF during limited "sneak previews" was...
WOW.
That being said, the EF is not set in stone. It is designed to grow and modify to suit the needs of HVAC-Talk pro members. The EF includes a suggestion box, which will be monitored. Feedback is welcome; it helps us grow the EF to best suit the membership's needs.
As a reminder, you cannot access the EF unless you have professional membership status. If you do not have this status yet, you may experience a bit of a delay if the Membership Committee suddenly becomes swamped with requests after the EF goes live tomorrow and our members begin discussing it in other forums. Please be patient. The Membership Committee participants, along with the Educational Committee members, are working people as yourself, with families and other responsibilities. We do the best we can with the time we have.
Nevertheless, I do not think upon first glance of the EF tomorrow, anyone will be outright disappointed. There is a LOT of material to be seen!

Very Good idea, HVAC-talk team!really well said mikey in one sentence. here we are all professionals , most of us with good skill and work ethics with one common denominator , we can't wait for the ef to open!!!! where is this enthusiam in the newbies in the industries????? There needs to be some serious marketing strategies put out there to 'splain the scope of things in laymans terms to draw in this new talent. make it easier to get a job upon completion of scooling , recruiters , job fairs , etc: I've been in the field 40 yrs and loved it the whole time(except some pms in jan. on rooftops). Yet here i am eagerly waiting for the ef to open. I'm afraid the response will give the server eqp't a meltdown. See ya inna ef.......Jack
