I just had a new house built, and am quite thankful for all the great advice I've obtained here over the years--both by lurking, and by a handful of questions. The builder's HVAC sub has installed two Carrier Infinity systems and it's been a struggle to get them to do it right. (The zoning dampers were installed backwards, the ERV was "installed" but the heat exchanger was left in the bottom of the cabinet and not put in place, they didn't use a Zone Control thermostat on the unit that is zoned, etc.)

I've finally got them to get everything installed correctly, but we can't figure out how the Infinity Control works with the ERV. I informed them that I wanted the ERV connected to the Infinity Control with a NIM rather than having it controlled separately. The ERV goes on during checkout mode on the Control. But I can't find any settings on the Infinity Control to choose how and when it runs. Carrier's installation guidelines aren't any help, and this is the first ERV the HVAC contractor has ever installed on an Infinity, so they're clueless as well. I don't think the ERV has ever come on except in Checkout mode. Should some control come up in the INfinity menus, or is it all done at the ERV's board?

Thanks for any help you can provide here. After re-reading the installation manual, I have a hunch that they never balanced the dampers and that I should find another contractor to do that.

Is this the first Infinity furnace your contractor has installed ? If it's not he should know how to get into the set-up menu and install the HRV in there.

The ERV is "installed." It comes up on the list of installed equipment. It comes on in Checkout mode in the service menu. But it never comes on otherwise, and there are no menu options to tell it "Run continously," "run only when the fan is blowing," etc.
