Today was another doosey at Wally World. They do some stupid things there.

While checking out with my wife and two kids, I set a 6 pack of Dundee Honey Brown on the conveyor. The clerk say's boldly I need to see your ID and your ID mam. I asked why do you need to see her ID? Wal-Mart has a new policy that they have to card all people in a party checking out. I went off, nicely, Where's the manager. By this time we had already abliged, but this is stupid. The manager came over and I laid into her, politely.

I asked her what if my wife was 18, you would not sell me the beer? She said No. "That's ridiculous. I put the beer on the conveyor I should be the one carded. Are you going to card my kids too?"
"We have to card all people."
I can't believe this. No other store does this. If I walked into a conveniencve store with my teenager( I don't have one) the clerk wouldn't refuse to sell me beer cause my son was under 21. Wal-Mart's policy is stupid I told her. She asked if I would like to talk to a manager. I said that's why you're here.
I'm going to complain long enough for you to let your bosses know and corporate know how stupid this policy is.

I have more to post on Wal-Mart's stupidity.

Went to Wally World to get 4 tires replaced. We did our shopping while waiting. An hour and a half later I went to check on my van.
The clerk said they were not able to complete the work cause they could not get one of the lugnuts off cause they were on to tight. They're torque guns were set at a max. of 80 PSI, I think. I was ticked. They didn't call me sooner to tell me.

Went to another place and even asked my dealer about it. 2 different mechanics said that was ignorant cause torque has nothing to do with removing lugs, only tightening.

My mother had a similar experience, plus thay told her they couldn't change her oil cuse the oil pan bolt was on too tight. That's BS.

If Wal-Mart doesn't want to do their job, then they need to get out of the auto(we don't)care business.

Another issue I have with them is you cannot check out of the cigarette aisle if you have more than 10 itmes. So, I would have to check out of one lane with my groceries and then stand in another lane to buy cigs. Need less to say i don't buy my cigs from inside Wal-Mart anymore. I go to Murphy's.

And lastly, for now, I have noticed that they will have an item for say 2.88. Next time I go to buy that item it will be 3.48 with a reduced price from 3.99.
That's BS. The price had always been 2.88 with no sign of markdown. Now it's gone up and yet they say they have marked it down.

Why is it that soda is 2.98 for a 12 pk. one week and the next it's 4.98? Every other week it goes back and forth. I can understand a slight up and down in price from week to week, but nearly double every other week. I don't think soda mfr's change their price that drastically. There has to be better price control.

Wal-Mart is losing their grip on being the low price leader.

Quit shopping there.

Problem solved.

I have forbidden my $$$ to be spent there.

Many other choices that are closer to my house with friendlier and more knowledgeable staff.

Who in their right mind takes a vehicle to Wal-Mart anyway?

Remember, ya get what ya pay for, cheap prices, cheap service.

Walmart is leading this Country into third world status.
Don't spend your $ there.

They won't install tires that aren't recommended by the manufacturer. But Belle tire will install what you want...............:D

I had this happen last fall: I was in the checkout lane right by the door buying leak rakes. The greeter saw me pay for the rakes, yet he wanted me to stop so he could check my receipt. They have 700 freaking cameras and all that other crap to stop shoplifting and this retard wants me to stop. Yeah Right, I haven't been back since.

I forgot that one. Hate it when they stop you at the door even though the anti-theft alarm doesn't go off. My wal-mart doesn't seem to do that.

I did buy my tires at the dealer BTW.

Back then when you're making 12 bucks an hour, you do what you got to do.

Besides all of my groceries are made in America.:D

Don't see why Target is any better. Same products, higher prices, Made in China, buying from Big Corporations.

I do not like Wal-Marts policies, as well as agree with the post about they are leading us into a third world nation. However, our local Pepsi bottler changes their prices at all grocery stores for two liters, prices every week go from 1.59 each to 89 cents each. Weird, but true.

It is interesting that there are mentions of Wal*Mart associated with third world countries. Since it is mostly liberal minded persons who are so up in arms about Wal*Mart, mostly due to liberal lobbyists constantly keeping Wal*Mart in the news, and liberals are also the ones who are always wanting the United States to give money to third world countries, does it not seem that companies like Wal*Mart are doing what the liberal minded folks want to be done; bolster the economies of third world countries?

I just don't understand the hypocrisy of the liberal mindset that doesn't ever seem to realize how many things they gripe about are contradictory to one another. Americans have the freedom to choose what they buy and where they buy it from. Supply and demand marketing dictates the success of companies. If there were no demand for the Wal*Marts of the world, they could not survive. Why do we keep making life impossible to resolve by constantly wanting something contrary to other things we want?

I don't particularly like shopping at Wal*Mart, but if I am near one and need something they have that I am not going to find a better version of elsewhere, I will certainly drop in and make a purchase. As an American, I have that choice and that right. Why do others want to take away American citizens rights and choices even in such a day to day venture as shopping? If I what I want is of better quality somewhere else, I will make that choice to go elsewhere to buy it. As an American citizen, I have the right to decide for myself how and where I want to spend my money. Why on earth would I go someplace I don't like to spend my money when I have the choice to not go to that place?

The thread starter here has admitted that will continue to shop at Wal*Mart for exactly the reason Wal*Mart exists; price and convenience. If either of those factors decrease, then make another choice in where you prefer to spend your money. To shop at a place because it offers one thing you want; price and convenience, and then to complain because that same place does not have something else you want; ease of purchasing and more professional staff, is just a matter of wanting a Mercedes at a Kia price. Do we in the HVAC industry always say that you get what you pay for? Don't we always get annoyed when a consumer wants our professional install for the price of a hacks job quote?

Come on folks; when you make a choice in where you shop, why complain about that place? Just choose to no longer go there and you will be a lot happier...right?

Good points.

I bought work boots at Sears last week, cause I didn't want Wal-Mart quality.

Tried on several pair. Tried Dewalt, Sears, Diehard, etc. Didn't matter what I tried, they were all made in China. I was thinking American made, but ended up buying foreign. Was not thrilled with my purchase. Did get personal service though.
