the government just passed some bill that allows illegals who have been ordered to leave, to turn themselves in without facing jail time.

the government claims that there are half of a million illegals in the country who have been ordered to leave who are ignoring the system.
(that probably means the REAL numbers are three times that, since the government has been lieing about immigration statistics for years)
this bill takes away the jail time and "gives them time to get their paperwork in order", ...if they choose to take advantage of it.

P.S. no one will take this offer since there's a big a$$ war in Mexico that no one is talking about

With all of your personal opinions aside, this appears to be a good thing. Even if it does nothing, it was an option that can be referred back to later when stronger measures of deportation are neccesary.

there is more of a chance that Americans will be forced out of their houses by the military so immigrants can live there, then there is a chance of any immigration reform

George Soros lives in a gated community with the rest of his elitist pals. He could give two @#$ks about how we, everyday Americans, live. Get It!;)

That would again be more of your personal opinion. I am not saying that I disagree or agree, just that our projected opinions are pretty much meaningless other then the thrill of being able to say we predicted something every once in a blue moon.

I know this is a dumb idea, but why not enforce the laws we have?

Not enforcing them and then just giving up doesn't seem to be the right track....

I will have to go along with you 100% on this one, and not just in regard to immigration. There are so many issues that could be resolved if the tools that available to our legal system were actually put to use. Most of the laws that were enacted by more conservative legislators are for the most part ignored by more liberal judges in most large cities. For example; there are many laws that add a mandatory amount of jail time be spent for any crime committed using a handgun. Liberal judges simply will not utilize these existing laws so they can continue to push for more restrictive laws to be put on the citizens.

Here, the real story behind the original post: http://start.localnet.com/article.php?article=D92CD6T01.html

Doesn't appear that this little deal is successful anyway. And, it wasn't something 'just passed'. Congress is on their nice long summer break you know.

One day a homeless person is walking down your street. He sees your house and decides he would like to live there. While you are not home, he climbs through an unlocked window and begins to make himself at home. Upon your return, you naturally call the police. However you are told that there is nothing you can do about this person. In fact, since he is already in your house, you are now responsible to provide a place for him to live as well as feed, clothe, and educate him. You must also provide employment, health care/insurance and in the event he wants his family to join him, you also must do the same for them.

Would you stand for this?
