New York City will not allow a citizen to defend himself or herself with a gun and the criminals know it. However, I guess a knife will work when a gun is not available.

actually, if trained properly a dollar bill is efficient enough, it all depends on how you fold it. but personally my favorite legal weapon (for most of the earth) would have to be the ball point pen. ;)

ya well, Ireland just banned ALL SWORDS and KNIVES.
If you owned a Samurai or antique sword you must turn it in to the cops:mad:
You may carry a knife IF YOU CAN PROVE you NEED knife. How they are going to enforce this little beauty is beyond me:confused:

That is quite amazing. Where can I read up on that? I want to see a news item or something on that.

The common man has been banned from owning swords off and on for more than 1000 years in Scotland...
The UK has a dirty little secret that only gets hinted at from time to time in the media.
While their murder rate is lower than in the US, their violent and non violent crime rates are MUCH higher.
Scotland's violent crime rate is significantly higher than England, Ireland and Wales.
The streets of New York City are safer than the streets of London...

Could it be due to all the single malt they produce? :D

Meet violence with violence.

I still carry pepper spray but ive seriously looked into buying a tazer good for 30 plus feet. Look it up on youtube , they run about 300 bucks. I do still carry a side arm in some parts of town though. However if i ever had to use it im sure it would now make national news , much better for me or my employees to be robbed , shot or murdered. Good luck with any form or self defence in liberal states like New York , Mass , or Cali just die like sheep our NEW government will be proud , but they wont take care of your family.

No, if I were going to a gun fight, I'd bring my 12 gauge. Unfortunately, I'd probably be arrested for toting that down any street in the USA.
I normally carry a .357 mag, but sadly, there are places where even that is illegal.
I have made a basic decision, I will never be defenseless. To that end, I have trained myself, body and mind as well as possible.
No matter what I am carrying, gun, knife or nothing. The weapon makes no difference, it is the skill of the user that will prevail.

It's legal in Texas. A few years ago, a stretch Hummer had a truck load of Black Panthers cruising down the freeway with rifles hanging out the windows. That same group, went to Huntsville (prison) to protest an execution, again, with rifles out. The DPS didn't really care for that but, it was within the laws of Texas, at that point in time. Needless to say, laws were changed after that, at least carrying firearms near the prison. You would be questioned carrying a rifle down the street but, it's still legal. Would I do it? NFW. But, that's just me.
