stopped in on 1 of mine - (2) yt design 'j' electro-mechanical starters.both run remote by bas. machine online purring like a kitten.
the other machine off - ready to start - in the box where fault is listed - motor pulldown limit. THE MACHINE WAS OFF!!. won't reset on the panel toggle, had to de-energize & reboot to reset. didn't show in the history section,(but why would it). i have a tinge saying this will reappear again, probably limiting the machine on a day when the sh@t hits the fan with the dog days rapidly approaching
any comments?

Was the panel in "remote" or "ISN"?

Let me re-phrase. Are they talking to a microgateway or just a contact closure?

i'm sure it's not relay logic. they change setpoint from their room downstairs, they've had previous issues with the siemens automation. (phantom chiller starts w/ no a/h's in the wee hours.had multiple hi disch. temp. failures. siemens techie found the start command buried deep in his program.)
if bas would limit loading, would it be displayed w/ machine off? (ready to start?) why, then , did the message 'reset' (disappear) when rebooting? (the opti) but,you got me thinking, that this may be an issue with the automation.
thanks for your reply

I should be easy to tell. If there is a 3x4 board mounted in the top left side of the Optiview, it has a microgateway. Whether they are using it or not,you would have to check. Sounds like they are. Could be a communication problem between them.

If it is new, they could be using the "e-link"

believe it's a gateway. bldg. had field installed 2-3 yrs. ago, to tie in automation.
