First, the liberal left of NJ made it impossible to get a concealed carry gun permit claiming nobody NEEDS to have a gun.
The liberals are proving that they are actually out to control every bit of your life as they can. Now they want to pass a law making it an offense to wear baggy pants. I don't wear baggy pants but I will defend your right to do so. Take a look at this link.

They just made it illegal in Flint, MI. about 2 weeks ago. At least when they get arrested they won't be able to run fast.

I did outlaw them in my house recently.

I hate the look, I generally take immediate dislike to those wearing it...but, I can't see a law to address it. What next, tank tops? Too short skirts, shorts? People need to get their judgment back in their lives!
I've read how the saggin pants trend has actually affected posture enough that back, arm and leg problems are common. Understandable when you have to walk bow legged and grabbing your crotch to keep from totally flashing people.

Great, now the pants police. As I seem to remember, NJ has several bigger issues they may want to address before they get their thongs in a wad over drawers. Jeez....what the hell are these people smokin'?
And I thought good liberals were tolerant of others' rights. It IS their CHOICE isn't it??:D

I don't understand why they singled out baggy pants. Why not include pink, blue and green hair while they are at it?
These liberals have no idea of the bill of rights

True story...
Several years ago here in Atlanta, a dude held up a Taco Bell with a shotgun. His saggers fell to his ankles...he laid the gun down to pick up his pants......one of his victims grabbed the gun and turned it on the would-be robber.
Poetic justice! :D

While I think the look is moronic, and I dismiss anyone sporting the look as not worth my attention, I think there are far more offensive fashion crimes that need to be delt with.

Too many damned laws making criminals of otherwise good Americans as it is. The baggy pants look is stupid looking and not very practical, but it certainly should make someone a criminal.

The baggy pants and huge shirt "style" makes me think of dumpster diving. They look like a homeless person in the winter who went through a dumpster and put on whatever they could find trying to keep warm.

What they 'ought to ban is driving around with the drivers seat laid back like they are in the back seat. That can't be very safe.

As long as they wear underwear (that doesn't fall down) let 'em wear what they want. It makes the job easier for the police - see this link:

By Sudden Death.
Oh no, there they go another herd of elephants
With big fat legs in tight black pants
And an image of themselves that can't be clear
'Cause it's obvious they ain't never looked in a mirror
Following fashion is no surprise
But when the fashion follows the form of your thighs
And reveals every mound and cluster of fat
Then it's time to take 'em off and take the damn things back
But no, they gotta go strut their stuff
And I'm here to say that enough is enough
Spandex shorts, stretch pants and such
If you weigh too much you're showin' way too much
Spandex doesn't hide where you sag
You look like a goddam hefty bad
Wrappin' up all your cellulite wreckage
Somethin' tells me it's gonna be one of those decades
Marchin' in the mall two ton by two
I guarantee that they're gonna sit by you
Showin' off everything the fabric ain't fixin'
Please God please no more fat chicks in spandex
Everywhere I go I just can't get away
From the overweight legs gift wrapped every day
I'm a humble man, I don't ask for much
But it would be nice to keep down my lunch
But I can't, they always walk by when I'm eating
My muscles all lock and my heart starts beating
Irregularly every time that I see
A walking wooly mammoth in a woman's size three
Clumps of fat popping out everywhere
Her pants are so tight I can see all her hair
It wiggles and wobbles when they're ridin' on a bike
Now I know what Al Bundy must feel like
The only thing I can imagine that would be any worse
Is Roger Ebert in a speedo but that's a whole nother verse
They wear 'em so much they're gonna wear the things up
And when the pants give away they're gonna all hang out
Beauty's in the eye of the beholder but
When these beauties walk by I keep my eyes shut
Black abominations they're squeezin' their hips in
Please God please no more fat chicks in spandex
If the back of your legs look like cottage cheese
If you're talking scale says "get off please"
If both of your breasts hang down to your knees
Then you shouldn't be wearin' any spandex
If you look like you're related to the Toxic Avenger
If a whale gets beached and you try to befriend her
If a mechanic sees your body and attaches a fender
Then you won't look good in those spandex
I'm gonna find who designed them it's all his fault
I'm afraid I'm gonna turn into a pillar of salt
When I accidentally look at a derriere
That looks like a walking bean bag chair
This has to be a dream but I can't wake up
It's too horrible a story to ever make up
It's the curse of the 20th century man
To be subjected to this torture again and again
By comparison the Spanish Inquisition was tame
Undersize pants on an oversize dame
Just ain't the way I like to get my kicks
Oh please God please no more fat chicks in spandex
:D

Why ban anything? Why not hold people accountable for when their individual actions cause problems with others instead of making a lot of laws that take away the freedoms of the American citizen? This is a very slippery slope that we have already started down. Just how far should we take this? If every action that could be disliked by someone were banned, we would all be confined to our homes until someone complained about that.
I agree that driving with the seat back laid down is probably an unsafe way to drive, but so is driving while talking on a cell phone, driving while eating a candy bar, driving while listening to music or worse; talk shows, driving while drinking a beverage, driving while talking to another person in the vehicle and so on and so on. What should we do; make anyone doing any of these things criminals by making laws banning them? Where does it stop?
No, we need to hold the individual accountable for the results of what their individual actions have done. Insurance companies already do this with their denying claims due to their insured contributing to an accident.

I must agree with this. As long as fashion is only in bad taste and not exposing sexual body parts, who has the right to make the decisions as to what fashions should be legal and which should not?
