We currently have a flexible 'plastic' duct work for the ac. Can we use a heat pump with that kind of duct?

Thanks

Are you talking flex duct? Not sure what kind of ducts you mean. Can you post pictures?

Heat pump is not as hot as a gas furnace and gas works with flex. Why do you ask? Does your contractor have a different opinion?

Do not have digital camera but the duct is big plastic round 2' with metal rings that holds the trunk.

As stated a heat pump has lower discharge temperatures than a gas furnace or electric heat so you should be alright if sized properly. Do you have air conditioning now or just heat?

Have forced air heat through metal duct. Have a separate ac that uses flex ducting in the attic. Glad it works. thanks
