I am considering relocating to the triad area in North Carolina (Winston-Salem, Thomasville and Greensboro). Can anyone give any insight to the actual job market there. I have looked on triadcareers.com, but I can't really get a good feel how the market is. It would be ideal to find a career with guaranteed 40hrs + a week and benefits. (Whos isn't looking for that right?) I have also heard that unions are not real big down south...is that?

Co worker of mine moved there, liked the housing prices, traffic was good, pay was a little lower than what he was making before, but the lower housing costs made up for it.
He kept good notes of his interview, and the bennies and pay,and never complained about being screwed. Said it was slow at times.

Raleigh has been the hot spot for hvac imo, but the rest of the state is fair to good, depending.
Unions don't have a huge presence in NC SC, but check around.

Suggest you visit a site called Sperlings Best, will give you taxes, income, home prices, racial make up, healthcare ,job growth, schools ,etc for just about any place in US.

Good Luck
