SC 46 multimeter, I am just testing mine and it will read in all ranges but not amperage. It should read even a light bulb right? I even tried it on my toaster oven and got no change in reading. Anybody know what APO means on the digital readout in very small letters in the top right corner of the meter?

APO, is just auto power off.
If your amp probe is not picking up any current then you need to send it back.
If want try changing the batteries and making sure nothing is in the way between the jaws of the clamp.

Unless you separated the toasters cord your not going to get a reading. Only one wire at a time.

The meter works at work. I checked a oven heating element with it and it reads fine. 15.7 amps. Could it be the beer that I had at home? I never drink at work, well not often, ok not everyday, OK, not all day

Walked into the toaster-talk forum, I wanted HVAC-talk instead. Sorry!
