.....it's a tie!

As I thought would happen, Obama is trending down and McCain is trending up. The moderate to conservative Dems are coming over to McCain.

Yeah, tied at 45%. 10% not committed. But, how many real people does that encompass. 2600 in this case. A rather small city. They state their margin of error as + or - 2%. I'd say that depends wholly upon the region of the United States polled as well as the demographic of voters.

They didn't call me....that I know of. I'm on the 'do not call list' although that doesn't seem to deter them.

The trends are more important than the actual numbers. I think the current trend will continue barring any revelations.

Boy, the polls changed quite a bit in just three weeks. Now that the Clinton/Obama show is finally over the American people can realize that there were more then just two candidates running for the presidency.

Hmmm, math must have changed in the last few years. The statistics class I took taught a sample of 3000 would produce +-3% margin of error with only slight drops in error above that even with larger samples. No way, less than 3000 would produce an error rate of +-2%.

Well, for what it is worth, and I don't believe polls are worth much, here is an array of polls we can toy with to support the candidate of our choice; http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/president/us/general_election_mccain_vs_obama-225.html

Sure if you could get a true representative sample out of that 3000. But that is highly unlikely in my opinion. You might just have a larger per cent in your group that won't vote or some who will say they will vote for Obama to sound "non prejudiced or PC" and will actually vote for American values IE McCain.

Well gosh, that seems to be completely different from what every other poll is saying. If you believe polls you're clueless anyway. What moderate dems are going over to support Bus...err..Mccain? The ones I know aren't, and I know republicans who are supporting Obama. Guess it depends on where you're at in the country.

Guess so because around here you won't catch a single soul supporting Obama, Democrat or Republican. In the big ole city of St. Louis you'll find the dems support Obama and everyone else supports just about anyone else...

Gosh, Missouri not supporting someone who isn't a white redneck...that's shocking. :p

I guess you consider Clair McCaskill a white redneck? Better check your eyesight. And there are PLENTY of black legislators in our state house.

Geez, I thought that was the point of the smiley at the end of my post. By the way, what districts are those black legislators from?

That big ole city!
Claire McCaskill is about as liberal democrat as they come and she won her seat by appealing to two places and two places only. Kansas City and St. Louis. She lost all the rest of the state but still won the seat.
Most of our state house is filled with gentlemen farmers though. :D

What do they farm in Misery? It's either flooding or you're in a drought down there :p

Drought was last year. This year we have everyone else's water! And getting more daily!

Bout any and everything is farmed in Missouri. Corn, soybeans are the biggest two. Then there is wheat, sorghum, sunflowers (yep!), pumpkins and all kinds of stuff.
And beef, chicken, turkey and pork.
And catfish.
Bout anything! :p
