I am being quoted a Trane XR13 4TTR3036AI and 4TXXC037 coil. Is this a good match?

Also, living in NJ, would it make sense to go with an XL14i or even an XL15i?

You can check your model numbers on this site to see if they are a ARI match, if they match per there specs then they will work togeather. Here's the site http://www.ahridirectory.org/ahridirectory/pages/ariDirectoryMain.aspx

That's a good match.

Remember you need to have a matching Trane variable speed blower with the other units to get their rated SEER.

There is an error in the coil model# provided by the OP. Should be 4TXCC037.

ARI# 1059742:
35,400 btu cooling, 11 EER, 13 SEER.

The contractor said I would get 14 seer from this matchup, with that coil will I only get 13?

You will NOT get 14 SEER from that match-up without a variable speed air handler. Ask the contractor for the ARI#. You already have the ARI# for the coil and condenser that he proposed.
