just curious what everyone was using to measure indoor wet bulb. I need to get something and might as well make it the best. Tell me what you use and why.

I use the Testo 605-H2 because it can be inserted into a 1/2" test hole just before the evaporator coil, which is where the WB should be measured for refrigerant charging.

Another vote for Testo. I've had one for about 2 years and recently got a second one.

Testo 606-2 does %RH, Dew point, Wet bulb, Dry Bulb....also measures moisture content in different materials.

My only gripe with the old H2 was short battery life and that it got turned on to easy by accident in my tool bag, which didn't help the battery life.

The new H2 uses 3 AAA batteries, so should have much better battery life, but that will still be shorter than it should be because it is even MORE likely to be accidentally turned on. The battery door falls of easily too, so one is advised to use a piece of tape to secure it.

It is highly accurate, light weight, not very expensive, super easy to use, and is ideal for taking WB readings where they are supposed to be taking, so it remains my first choice of instruments for the task, even with its minor shortcomings.

I just wish instrument manufacturers would pay more attention to how easy it is for the instrument to be accidentally switched on...

Testo 605-H2 old style. Use it all day long and have not changed the battery in over a month. Got 20 of the batteries off E-bay $6 shipping included. Have used the UEI wet bulb and it didn't last then the Amprob model then the Testo. Amprob is my back-up.
