I have a couple of problems I hope I can get some help with. First, I am unable to log in the GCM locally. Using the keypad on front of the controller, I type my username (enter) and then my pswd (enter), but access is denied. These are the same user and pass that I use on the front end with no problems. Front end software is Signal 4.4. Any suggestions of anything I am overlooking?
Also, can anyone email a breakdown of the internals to the GCM and LCM, such as a description and function of the small reset switches in the controller (middle and lower right corners). Basically, something that labels the components inside. Thanks in advance. Email is in my profile.

LCM the boards are as follows , looking at the LCM the board farthest to the right has RED button on the bottom is the I/O card the button is the MASTER RESET. This BUTTON RESETS the LCM to the condition it was shipped from the FACTORY. The 2 red lights above the RESET flash when PULSES are being monitored on Port 1 & 2 At the top of the board are 9 Voltage test pins for testing the controller.

The board to the left of that one has a button with 2 RED lights below the button is the CPU CARD the lower RED light is TASK activity the upper Red Light is MEMORY TESTING they will blink constantly during startup and slow a bit during normal operation the RESET button will cause all programmed blocks to rest , they will retain HISTORICAL data but will restart at the beginning of their cycles. Same as turning power off to the LCM

If there is 1 additional board to the left of the CPU that would be a Communications card

Good to know. Sounds like if you inadvertently hit the the MASTER RESET, you would flush the whole controller. If you didn't have a back up reference of the programmed blocks, you would loose them. Am I getting this correct?
I suppose if the LCM hick-upped, it would be okay to reset the one to the left (CPU card) because that is about the same as turning off the power to the controller. It sure pays to learn what you are working on, before you do something stupid.
Thanks Controlman!

MASTER RESET ='s HOUSTON WE HAVE A PROBLEM:eek: had a few customers over the years do it , lucky that there were backups of the programs available otherwise its start all over.

If the power source is readily available I usually just pull the fuse or reset the breaker supplying the transformer to the GCM / LCM instead of the using the reset on the CPU , had a few act up over the years and would not reset , was a glitch thats been corrected

I was reading in the Tac Signal Manual about the default user and pswd. Would that work to log into the GCM? They don't give you any information on the GCM/LCM controllers.

Did you get in? I see your last post on this is a few months old now so I'm not sure if your still in a holding pattern with this or not. I can probably help you, if you are still stuck let me know.

Best regards,

Pushing the button on the right hand board does not clear the eeprom, you have to push both together to do that. The one on the right hand board resets the controller just like killing power.
