I have just gotten a large contract that has a lot of duct board and should be able to justify buying a duct board cutter. Can anyone give me an idea of cost for new or used machines and where to find? I am out of South Carolina. Thanks.

Have you checked with your suppliers to see if they have one you could use?

In my area we have 2 different supply houses that own duct machines and will let you use them if you have a large enough order of board.

I'll have to check out this "machine" as I've only done it old school.

Its just a machine as long as the DB with moving knives on a ruler. You set them to the desired size and it sucks them through. Del-Air, my old employer, had 4 of them at our shop and had people pre-fabbing pretty much all standard box sizes, or special sizes for larger jobs. lol now i work for a smaller company. Back to cutting everything by hand. =( lol

we were able to buy a used glass master grooving machine, which we are very satisfied with, & which all the supply houses have in our area. we were ready to pay full price, until we called glass master directly @ 1-800-874-9135. It turns out they had a big client who was going to upgrade to new machines for tax purposes, guess he had to spend the money. Either way we got a good machine, she doesn't look pretty but it works great.
