Can I use Carirer Heat pump Base models with Puron (i.e. 25HBA430A32, 25HBA330C30) matched with:
- Performance series variable speed air handlers (i.e.FV4BN(B,F)005) and Thermidistat control thermostat?
- or, Infinity series variable speed air handlers (i.e.FE4AN(B,F)005+UI) and Infinity control thermostat?

I found the matching on the ARI directory, but the dealer says Base model compresssors (even with Puron) don't support Thermidistat/Infinity controls, and won't work...Any help?

Thanks

Comfort series does not support either.

If you're using the variable speed AH, or either the 80% of 90% vs furnace, with the Infinity control you can use ANY cond. unit. You won't get all the benefits but it will work it just won't communicate through the ABCD connectors. I'd like to hear why your dealer thinks a base model comp. won't work.

[You won't get all the benefits ]

Yes, the plan is to use VS air handler to gain efficiency/comfort.
The Performance series A/H w/Thermidistat control could be a cheaper option overall.
What benefits will I lose? Efficiency? Comfort? Others?
Will the system (condenser + A/H + T-stat) communicate properly?

Thank you.

Last year the HBA ,base model was not listed as a match for the FE ,Infinity air handler, but this year it is.The FV was a match last year.

I still go with the HCA ,Comfort model for the longer warranty and cabinet.

Will the following do the trick (for both Base and Comfort series)? If yes, will the OAT be cheaper option to buy and have it professionally installed with the new system?

SYSTXCCUID01--A INFINITYt CONTROL - Page 5:
See wiring diagram Fig. 13 for connecting an FE fan coil with a
1--stage heat pump (non--communicating outdoor unit). When
OAT is applied, the Infinity system will provide enhanced system
features and benefits.

Don't have that page handy ,but it can work as described, and if it's in the "book" should be good to go.
