is there a free smtp server to use

hey guys,
I have a customer that uses gmail for there email.
My 403 cant use gmail due to it requiring SSL.

What smtp server are you guys using, I dont care to pay for one but I cant find a lifetime account, and Id rather not fool with it every year

use the one built into your Windows XP Professional computer. that way you do not have to depend on any other machine than the one you maintain for smtp email delivery.

i use smtp on xp pro machines all the time without any problems. it's a small subset of the IIS service. you can disable all IIS functionality not needed by smtp.
