I have GX9100 7.05 (I think is the latest). In the file setting for ddl option I have generate ddl on file save checked. It does not generate any ddl files. It also has system name as SYSTEM still there (default) does this need to match the file name of the controller?
Is another operation needed to generate the ddl?

As long as you know where it's saving (directory), it saves as a .dmo file I believe. It will be viewable in notepad. There is a tool out there to convert to ddl that is helpful for mapping in the NAE, and maybe direct mapping in the NCM. It is dmo2ddl. I may be able to find it if you need it. If I remember PMI, I believe the dmo is only useful for a cs object.

I'm with tuna that the *.dmo file is for use as the/in the model file and is very handy for mapping points in a NAE or FX. The *.dnc would be for your NC database.
The SYSTEM that you see under the 'DDL File Options' can be changed to what ever you want the *.dnc file system name to be.

The .dmo is also used as the template when commissioning the DX.

I'm thinking that you have a good point there.
How about the 'ol JCI "commissioning by exception" routine?
Gotta' love that one!

You got that right. JCI newbie DX butcher jobs are fun to fix.

Oops, just looked at a template. That's kind of an autopilot thing for me, the extensions are filled in. As an end user and with some good branch people still left (A couple of vets around on their own if we need them also), I've only rarely had to get into commissioning. Usually only because of strange lock ups of some LRS's or whatever. Most of the time just tweakin' if needed.

Thanks Tuna,
The dmo's are there, I didn't bother trying them before in notepad (I was looking for a ddl extension).
I won't need the utility, I'm using it on an FX-40 conversion job.
