12 seer 2.5 ton reem w/ .065 piston a-coil. Suc pres=58 Head pres-185Outside temp 70, Suc temp = 35. Inside looked pretty dirty but seems to be good air flow. Any ideas?
Thanks

What's the problem? Those numbers don't look all that bad. What's your superheat, indoor temp, delta T?

I was conserned about the suc temp. Nearly freezing. Guess I need to get more info to anwer the other.

Mismatch! Rheem 12 SEER products are to be on a TXV coil and usually a notch larger than the 10 SEER coil. A full outdoor unit model # will tell but could be undersized indoors.

it is a 10seer 2.5 ton goodman coil (mismatch). I guess it's been running this way a while though unless its a leaker or something? You think the only good anwer is matched a-coil w/txv or just a txv?
Thanks

is the evap coil an "M" style coil? in other words does it look like a double "A" coil?

no. regular A

its definitely a mismatch. the good news is with a 13 seer rheem evap you should get way higher efficiency.

Undersized evap is probably running colder. Since you don't know the history, probably been running low suction and superheat, especially if getting dirty. In heat mode, probably running a high head too.
