Is anybody familiar with these new compact systems that are out. I can't remember the name, something like micro or mini? I think they are manufactured by mitisubishi maybe. There's a condensing unit outside, a lineset and a small evaporator coil on the inside. What's the deal?

I was browsing the Energy Star website today (not much going on in the office) and apparently they've got some mini-split systems that are Energy Star certified. I think they said the mini-splits were more efficient than the window units, but don't quote me on that.

My impression has been that they're in about the same ballpark as window units.

I tried to get a quote on one and the guy said they were very expensive, but never got back to me. :(

Ductless Mini-Splits

They are not bad in price for what you get. A lot more efficient than a window unit and a heck of a lot quieter.

A bunch of manufactures make them.
