Hello fellow HVAC Professionals,

This is serious questions and I would appreciate an honest answer.

1. If someone questioned the load calculation that you ran, do you feel you 100% certain of your results?
2. Do you think a Load Calculation that you run will be more accurate that a load run by a homeowner?
3. If you do not run Load Calculations, why not?

Thanks for your reply. It is intended to be a constructive discussion.

Yes, I would feel 100% accurate in my load calculations. Their pretty easy if you take your time and don't rush things.

No I would not trust a homeowner's load calculation. I want to see the findings myself, not trust someone elses math. The main reason is simply that if I do the load, and something is wrong, then its all on me. But if you take a homeowners load and something is wrong, then its on you for not doing your own.

I don't know why someone wouldn't do a load calc. They are very important and the only way of sizing equipment.

1. If someone questioned it. I would look at what I enetered again, and then stand by my results if nothing stood out.

2. If using the same sofware, I think they would be close enough that the difference would change the size of the unit.

3. I prefer to sit down while pecking on my keyboard.
