I searched previous posts and didn't see a thread comparing these three brands in terms of heat pumps.

I live in Los Angeles and my condo's a/c (outside heat pump/ indoor air handler) needs to be replaced and I have two bids at the moment.

One is offering the Rheem RPNL 13 seer heat pump.

The other is offering a Luxaire or a York; don't have model numbers, but they're both 13 seer.

Should any of these brands be avoided or is it a non-issue and they are all equally good?

Thanks for your help!

The Rheem RPNL is a deluxe unit, we've had good results from them.

York & Lux have low end which is a pretty cheap unit, and high end which is a nice unit. Definitely get a model # to see which you are being quoted.

Properly sized & installed, which is hard to find these days, any of the deluxe stuff will do you just fine.

The Luxaire/York model is the Acclimate HLB030F1.

Those are deluxe units.

Nothing wrong in choosing either of those units.
