When piping in a new split system, are ther any charts for adding oil to the system???
I know we can estimate the gas charge, but what about the oil when compressors don't have an oil glass?

Your installation manual may have some information, if not check the manufacturer's website for documentation on long line set installations. From last year's memory I believe Goodman's install sheet that came with the unit didn't have anything on long line set adds other than a reference to their white paper and charging information. To get their white paper I had to go online.

in all the OEM start-ups done over the yearseither it being 5 story risers(with a AC&R riser oil seperator) into air cooled condensers or 100' out of a rooftop penthouse chiller to the same types maybe a gallon here and or their.let the unit run for a week or two it only wets the pipes and TXV.if you have a charging port or valve for oil....take a line off it and then up to the suction and with brass inline sightglass you can catch the level in the compressor(i don't have to say it do i in the OFF position and the CCW hot)
