I am supposed to go look at a controller for a tower tomorrow. I don't have any model numbers yet. I have found the revelation program on their site and have downloaded it. anyone have any experience with this system? is it rs485?

Depending on the age and model of the controller there are a few TCS communication adapters that were used, they are RS232 to RS 485 half duplex for the older models, and the newer ones are straight RS 485 half duplex.
The REV PRO requires a RS 232 port so you would need the TCS QD1010 adapter or equivalent

Thanks. I have a couple 485 adapters. do I tap into the comm bus on the controllers?

RJ 11 connection built into the controllers , and make sure you have the correct baud rate,
What controller is it ?

They are not a bad controller , use quite a bit of TCS/Basys they fit a niche where there is not a need for a ULTRA MODERN Name Brand controller or control system.
