So Im watching the tele and Im seeing the pope with all that security driving down the streets of DC and I ask myself, what does this guy actually do besides tell people to get off the grass?

So, please enlighten me as to what this man does for a living and why he deserves so much ass kissen.

Well he's obviously the main holy guy (on this earth anyway) for the Catholics. But I'm a protestant so I'm not really qualified to answer. Maybe one of our Catholic friends will chime in. :)

Just what he's doing today. Takes a trip now and then, has a bunch of people come to see him, speaks gibberish, and leaves. And shares pictures with child molesting priests.

The Apostle Simon Peter was a bit of a snob about being Jewish and would not have been the Simon that the Catholic Church claims became a church leader in Rome. More then likely the Simon in Rome that the Catholics are using as their catalyst for pioty was a charlottin who wanted in on the "action" of what he considered the Jesus movement. It's in the Book.
