I am noticing with IE7 now, that on some of the posts I have to scroll and scroll to the right to see other half of

Anyone else seeing this? Is it time to stop dealing with IE7 and all the issues or what?

ALC was a fine product. Especially comparing it to comparable generations of its day. Far advanced Ill give ALC that. But now, the proprietary nature of it will be its un doing.

On Apple safari is good, and its getting better on windows. Its hard to beat firefox once you get some plugins and set em up the way you want em.

Because it has a much wider Standard that must be met. BacNet seems to allow too many loopholes from vendor to vendor, and still be called open Bacnet. I have not really seen a "standard" with Bacnet, its more like a vendor willing kind of thing.
Dont get me wrong, There are some Lon vendors (Trane/Invensys) that do their best to make their Lon.... BacNet like. But the majority do not.

Freddy.. I'm a bit biased...but for a front end for chiller control systems which is what I spend most of my time doing it is great. I can spit out Modbus to the ones who want it or BACnet IP or MSTP or CCN. The only problem is LON...ALC doesn't seem to ........you know what I mean!!!!!!....:o Things are changing though. At least we are moving forward...(slowly) !!!!!!!!

I hear ya. Its nice to have all options available. Ala Tridiums NiagaraAX. If a customer wants Bacnet for this.....then 2 years later wants Lon for that......and 3 years later wants modbus for this............the capability is there with one combined solution without the need loads of extra integrators , translators and such.
I like Lon over Bacnet yes...but I am more of a Tridium fan more than any one specific protocal. Cause it can do either one plus more.
Bacnet just locks down software and has no standard between any two vendors when it comes to the big picture. Which is fine except when "open" is used to sell it to the customer in the first place and when it comes down to making it "Open" they can't or won't. So it boils back down to Sysints "Big Lie" statements. And he is right on.

I Started with Tridium when (Big Bro) had it (C1R2) (Actually did a couse in LA) but now of course we are doing ALC. Stuck between the good and the bad @ the moment....

Tridum is great stuff, but remember there are those "Big Guys" out there that like to play games with the license, and kinda messes up the whole "OPEN" concept, kinda one sided, they want to "suck in the info", but don't want to link to other Jaces. HW, finally did the OPEN version, but try using their wizards now.
I just left one of the "Big Guys" for Lynxspring, whom seem to be in "real tune" with the Tridium products. I will post from time to time, on my experiences with them, I am going to use the 201/600 + LCD display for some retail solutions and they seem to have extensive wizard, and appliance experience, that I can lean on.. PLUS THEY ARE OPEN, and Ala Cart on selecting EVERYTHING.
