does anyone have experience with this . Mr slim or the city system by Mitsu*****i. I have a building with several rental units in which the walls have been moved around over the past 30 years or so, so that the 5 roof top units don't really correspond to individual rental space and only 1 thermostat for each. This systems claims to be able to have a thermostat in each room, etc. Is it reliable?? any experience anyone?? I have to replace all the roof units anyway. Do I go for a drop in replacement or attempt to change the whole system??

i personally don't have experience with this system but my company has installed several and we have sent a couple guys to classes for both the install and controls side of these systems. the feedback i have gotten from the customers and the installers is these systems work as advertised. very few service calls if installed according to manufacturers instructions and very energy efficient. they are not very cheap to install.

every thermostat needs to have a evaporator section. so every zone=$$$.
if you have alot of offices it can get expensive. every evap needs a condensate drain.

it may be cheaper to install a vvt system in the building, but vvt systems have their issues.

also if you are not in a tropical enviroment you need to heat the building. i'm not sure if you can get these in a heat pump or not but heat pumps have their limitations in very low ambient temps.

if you have any specific questions i can talk to my guys and try to help.

the most important thing is to make sure your contractor has people that have been trained and have some installs under their belt. you don't want your building to be a training ground. improper installs with this system will lead to some serious issues.

They are two different systems -which is it?

I have a building with several rental units in which the walls have been moved around over the past 30 years or so, so that the 5 roof top units don't really correspond to individual rental space and only 1 thermostat for each. This systems claims to be able to have a thermostat in each room, etc.

Depends upon what you have there exactly...

Is it reliable??

Only if you know what you're doing!!

any experience anyone??

lots, err hundreds...

I have to replace all the roof units anyway.

Why?

Do I go for a drop in replacement or attempt to change the whole system??

Drop in what exactly ?

No offence but I suspect this kit is above your paygrade..get help

Cheers

Richard

P.S and BTW it's MITSUBISHI ...
