I found a Fluke 16 in my shop. I was told it didn't work only to find out it works fine when you have good test leads for it....Anyways I took it apart and I see adjustment screws....I would assume this is to calibrate it but I have no instructions with it.....Do any of you guys have an instruction manual .pdf?
All I have is this I found online but it doesn't explain the method to calibrate it. I think I know how but I want to make sure before I change anything.

Good meter. I recommed getting the fluke temperature pipe clamp to go with it.

this is for calibrating the temp sensor

I have plenty of ways to check temps. This meter is great for me because of the accuracy and it's a better electrical meter than my fluke LT-17 is....I really like the record feature and the fact I have specs now to see when it's out of calibration. It appears though there is a item that is required to test anything above the 0 input test since I have nothing I know for sure is rated at the other ratings of each test.
I'm just now starting to play with it I found it yesterday piled in a corner. It had leads that weren't half melted and I think I remember the guy saying there was a meter but it didn't work....it would read like 3 volts on a 120V circuit....I wonder why.
It appears to be very accurate so far I don't have the temp plug in so I can take temps but like I said I have plenty of tools for that although I always like more :D

You guys ever have any problems calibrating the temp. probe? I was trying to calibrate it. I would get it set right and then go to put the cover back on and then it would be off 5º or more......I checked the back to make sure it isn't hitting the adjustment screw......I tried it like 7 times in a row...then gave up....The volt ohm meter works great.....it's nice to have real time or close feedback from a meter....I got some alligator clips for it which is nice....I was hoping I could get the temp probe to work also...since I bought the adapter.

I have done the same thing as you. Had the probe in a ice bath with another temp probe and dialed it in on the Fluke 16 and put the back on and it does not match up with the other probe. I did this over and over. Gave up and bought the Fluke 902 :D and while I was in the spending mood and I got the new Fluke 116 :D

Re reading the instructions you gave me.....I think I need to adjust the dc calibration first before messing with the temp probe.....If that fails I may take the same route.....But I think it can still be handy I need to check it to my fieldpiece's.....as I'm short the calibration machine in the instructions :o

I was just re-reading that myself and will go out to the truck and try the DC calibration first to see if that makes any difference. :o

I called fluke because I just got a 289 temps were off compared to my 54 thermometer the 54 was right tested in boiling and ice water the guy flatout told me that tmep readings on mutimeters are not accurate to use the 54

Well went out to the truck and brought in the Fluke 16 and the Fluke 52. I twisted the 1 wire from the 16 and the 2 from the 52 together and watched the temperture on the meters.the Fluke 52 t1 and t2 are both showing 73.9 F and the 16 is showing 75 F. Maybe I should leave well enough alone :D

You need to check them at more then one temp some of temps were off a lot he checked the specs on the 289 meter said it was ok and the 54 and 52 has better specs

I compared temperature readings on my fluke 16 and fluke temp clamp to my friends fieldpiece w/ fieldpiece temp clamp(I dunno what model it was) and there was a one degree difference between them. I don't know which one was right but 1 degree is close enough for me I have never tried to calibrate mine.

I calibrated my field piece by two temps taking the average of the difference between the two....I hope that one is accurate as that's been the one I have used for a while now...The ST4.....The calibration hasn't moved since I set it although I wish the screws weren't right on top of the meter.....I feel they could get bumped and maybe move although it hasn't happened yet.
Overall I like the ST4 but I wish it had a magnetic strap that wasn't attached to the carrying case. I will play around with the fluke tomorrow.
