I was reading a thread on the testo 510 and was interested in the tool. just curious what you guys use it for and the capabilities. I would like to use it for the following let me know if some things can not be tested with this meter.
1. gas pressure w/ open and closed combustion chambers. 2. break point on pressure switches 3. air flow (static pressure??) Draft on a powered draft system 90% ( I had a manufacturer rep request this info once) (can this measurement still be taken in that temp range) Just in general what you use this meter for and if you have success with it. Thanks:rolleyes:

Yes to all of the above. It is a vary stable sensor with little to no drift, and a two year warranty. The accuracy is very high, and the back lit display makes it easy to see in the dark. There is an accessory kit on trutechtools.com that you may want to look at that has static pressure tips, high temperature silicone hose, and a gas pressure adapter fitting.

You should add two 1/4" barbed tees and some short lengths of tubing for pressure switch testing.

Now thats what i'm talking about!!:D that price is better than what my supply house is offering. is that a cheaper meter compared to the 511? i noticed the 511 is not differential meter. i just don't want to buy the lowest line one. thanks for the reply.

You want the 510 for the work that you described.

Yes, that is a very nice price!

using a duel port on sealed combution furnaces, is a lot easier then removing covers to use a single port.

The 511 is used specifically for calculating air density for airflow measurements, building depressurization ect. For checking pressure switches gas pressures ect, you will need the Testo 510. Trutechtools will have the tees in the kit, it is just not on the listing

I saw the 510 at a supplier and it feels cheap and flimsy. I also purchased some Testo temperature tools and they feel flimsy.

The 510 reminded me of a cheap cell phone. Does anyone else get this impression of these Testo insturments being weak?

I can only speak of the 506 and 510

They're far more durable, then they look or feel.

I'm abusive. :)

Not at all!

The pocket series meters are fantastic, and I highly recommend them!

The only problem I have had is I wore the case out on my 410-2, from wearing it everyday.....

I would like to have seen some of the cases go vertical instead of horizontal but still a great product!

i thought the same thing when i bought one without ever seeing it in person.

after having it in my bag for a year i will tell you it's as tough as any other.

small size makes it easy to carry so it gets used more.

That had to have been a typo, we offer 5% off your first order and free shipping on most of the pocket line. That caught me by surprise also. :D

Im about to order another grand worth of toys I mean tools........

What manifold will you use on the 1250?

I have been thinking hard abut the 1600, it would be my first digital, I don't really need logging and do mainly resi. Definately still getting my tool kit started and would love to add digital..........

1600 is a good product, but I would recommend you go with the 1200. If you have the 1200 later you can upgrade it to the 1250 for a small investment.

I use the titan manifold for all of mine.

So the old stock 1200's can be upgraded?

After reading all the posts here I really want, I am at about 22 months of experiance and am not rolling in the dough, but know that I can't get better until I get better and tools are a big part of the equation. Do you set them up with 410 hoses and use them on both 22 and 410?

weber

Yes, the 1200's will be able to be upgraded to the 1250's.

I always use 410a hoses and the titan manifold on my sets.

They work on just about every refrigerant.
