hsi tool

Recieved this tool many years ago, and lost it the other day. Damn thing is smaller that a pocket screwdriver about 1/4 the size.

You slide the barrel over the pins of an hsi.
This depresses the tiny barbs and then another shaft helps punch out the pins from the molex connector.

Great for when replacment hsi has different male/female molexs.

Yes I know you can cut and wirenut. But I prefer this method.

Any one know where I can find them. Been asking around and getting alot of blank stares.

i have 2 different ones like you are describing got them from
automotive parts house. napa if i remember correctly.

Cool, I have always used a small screwdriver to flatten the barb to pull it out, but it don't always work so well.

Have to get me one of these. Do you know if there is a name for them?

Snap-On makes a set of electrical connector tools, P/N TT600, it has the tool you are looking for.

I also made one out of a thin piece of sheet metal carefully cut and shaped around a round piece of metal the same diameter as the pin, worked well in a pinch.

An Auto parts store sells these pretty cheap.

I have 2 sets from Snap On, that work on every type of plug connector.

Do Not order what I did it will be the wrong diameter. I believe what is the correct size is the .092, but I am going to the local Radio shack where they are supposed to have them. I am bring with me a molex from an hsi. I will post back with the correct info. Thanks Michael
