I have had a veto now for a year. It is starting to fall apart. The strap is getting very tattered. The rubber sole has cracked, the rubber handle is almost gone on the under side. I have broken 2 zippers. one for a main compartment another for a side pocket.

The interior water proofing plastic is peeling and shedding away.
Going back to smaller IDEAL leather electrician tool bag. Just ordered.

Give them a call, I'll bet they will fix/replace for you. They seem like the kind of company to stand behind their product.

I could buy it have it fixed for free then have three  :D

My Gatemouth reciently started to rip at the hinge and I really like the looks of the Veto. I saw a similar looking bag at Sears and was wondering if anyone else has seen it. I think that I'll go out and take a second look tomorrow. The Gatemouth lasted 16 months but I don't like having to dig around for a tool that I use once a month and of course is at the very bottom of the bag. If Sears has the bag I'll probably get it and see how I like it.

My two cents................

I'm one week into my new veto LC............been on a job all week which involves a quarter mile walk from the van, up several fights of steps and crawling to the end of a 6th floor attic............so far I'm much happier with it than I thought I would be.

Only complaint is nowhere to put my little plastic "junk drawer" full of wire nuts, connectors, ect. BUT.......I can fit my Bosch Impactor and a box of bits, so, I guess it cancels that out.

We'll see how it holds up six months from now, but so far I'd buy the same bag again without thinking twice.

I'm into my Veto bag about a month now and still love it. I went with the XXL-F so I could fit everything into it that I need for a furnace changeout, or if i'm going to ride shotgun in the co-workers box truck for the day, everything I might need for the day is loaded into it in one shot. Easy to go from my truck to his truck and back.

But for regular service calls, I use a smaller AWP bag since it's so much lighter and easier to use. If the XXL-F holds up as well as I think it looks like it's going to, i'll probably get the LC for service calls later on because I REALLY like all the pockets to keep everything organized. I'm really over the dig and dump bags. Individual pockets are the way to go for me.

Maybe if I found a small-ish AWP or CLC bag that had a lot of pockets I might go for that for service calls, but for a bag to carry all my gear at once, I don't think there's another bag out there that will perform like the XXL will. I'm hauling about 63lbs of tools in it and it doesn't even break a sweat. For what i'm using it for, it works great.

If I didn't do so many furnace changouts and ridealong in other trucks some days, the need for such a big bag wouldn't be there.

Everyone's needs are different, just gotta find the tool bag that works for what you do the most.

I am picking one up tommorow I think I will go with the lc. I will put a thread up to track its proggress. I am very hard on tool bags. I have destroyed several brands of "dig and dump" tool bags, my fault mostly, putting as much as I can carry in them half the time to avoid trips back to the van. Some of my equipment is a good 10 minute walk from the lot. I am sick of my tools falling out of the open style in the van or up the ladder or walking to and from, man that is getting expensive replacing stuff all of the time. I am very interested in seeing how this holds up looks awesome.

Was using a Small electricans service bag.

Didn't fit much more in it the my other bag, twice the size and 3 times the weight

Yes, I went to store that sold them, two actually. I drove over an hour away to touch one.

I have used the bag for one week, I still have not made my mind up about. I will continue to use it for a while and will check back in, and let you know if its a go or a no go.

That would piss me off after all the hype on this bag. Funny thing was Iwas ordering one this am. Busted out the other two. Got a year out of them, switching mid way.
Doesn't have a place/space for the hoogie box, (wire nuts, cores, connectors, screws etc.)?
That much money it should have the Craftsman warranty. BTW, does the Craftman warranty cover Craftsman toolbags?

I'm 1 1/2 weeks into mine and I like it, The LC is perfect for me, I fit just enough, but not too much..............the more space I get, the more useless crap I'm going to tote around, that's why I bought the LC and not the XL.

Thinking about maybe an XL for my sheet metal stuff............these things may be addictive.........get one befor the gov't finds out and makes them illeage!

Tommorow (spelling?) will be 1st week in with XL and had my first rooftop WI job at a mall nontheless:( Had to carry to bag up and down 3 times, pedometer said 1.25 miles (roof access on other side of mall from customer)

I got it loaded heavier than any bag I've ever owned and it was surprisingly comfortable :D and everything is at hand and organized, if it only last's a year then I have a new yearly tradition. Buy a new one :D

I'm very pleased with the layout and design.

Well I was shopping Evil-Bay last week, got a XL for $90 (missing the shoulder strap but otherwise new still had the tag) 1st day with it today and very pleased, only issue is with my UEI"junk" meters I can only get the clamp-on and one of the DMM meters in it(I have a 3rd I use for cap testing and Hz on generators, not fond of the autoranging feature so I use my other for everything else) guess I will have to take that one out of the bounce guard.

Forgot I bid on a LC the week before so I have that one coming too! New tinner bag I guess.

cool, then I suppose I will be switching the LC to service and XL to tinner then, there was MORE than enough room for all my hand tools in the XL just a bugger for the meters to fit good.

I ordered one yesterday. I called direct but after being put on hold for quite awhile I hung up and ordered it elsewhere and they shipped it right out.
Nice to see you named the bag after my dog. (Veto-every name my wife, MIL & I came up with my daughter raised her hand and said "Veto". We decided that was a good name and so it is. Never having a Jack I now think that Bin Laden might have been better).

dowadudda you gonna keep the veto as a spare or what?

I swear If ya did wear one out .... you could cut the covers off both sides, and throw the strap away..... and it would still be a better tote than what some guys use.

Hell, I actually wouldn't mind having some stripped down XL's for specific jobs......... just the bottom and center and handle.

I think if my zippers break... I am going to hook some straps on each of the rings on the flap take them over the top and hook em to the rings on the other flap. I might try that even if the zippers don't break. Unhook the straps, both sides flop down and off ya go.

I think my plastic parts box is like 8" x 6". It came out of the last bag I used from Lowes. The one that always tipped over LOL

I keep wire nuts and such in there. Its a good place to keep nut drivers for the drill. I keep the k-type temp probes in the zipper pouches on the bag.
