Hello guys I hope someone can help here. I have a request from a industrial plant to install a 1 ton heat pump system on a existing concrete block 20 x 20 room. This dock office is inside a huge warehouse facility and the air is conditioned in the 70f range. The dock office has a metal deck roof at 10ft with a drop in uninsulated acoustic ceiling at 8 ft. There is a existing 1 ton fan coil with chilled water coils that was installed recently and all the duct has been run on the roof. Unfortunately no one checked the costs on running the chilled water lines over to the unit (10k) plus a duct heater would need to be added to the supply for heat so another 2k probably with the new electrical service. So now they are looking for a 1 ton package heat pump system that can be tied into the existing duct system. I have checked a couple of sites and cannot seem to find a package unit smaller than 1 1/2 ton capacity. They would like to utilize the ductwork and existing secondary drain pan so that is the reason I was looking for a little package unit. If anyone knows of something that might work in this situation I would appreciate any feedback.

I have done a little bit of research and am now considering a 2 ton unit straight cool unit with a 2 stage compressor like a Rheem RARL maybe, that should give me 65% capacity on 1st stage and then a matched air handler and maybe use 3 to 5 kw auxilary heat that way I do not have to worry about a additional secondary drain pan for the condensor. Plus we may get some great humidity control with the variable speed AH and the extra capacity in case of a big union meeting or something happens in this room. My local supplier is going to work me up some pricing when he gets time (it is awful close to friday you know) I think this might be the best solution what do you guys think?
