Looking for information pertaining to integrating a Trane BCU with an iLon 100. I was told the iLon 100 does not do Bacnet over ip. Does anyone have any success with this? Thanks.

What do you want to do? Is it an existing ilon100 you and you are plunking down a BCU? You can use the ilon as a RNI (if supported) or commission it the other way into your system. The ilon is flexible.

I have an existing BCU with many Trane vav's. I want to take the trane info and put it on the internet through the ilon.

Is the existing devices on a COMM5? If so you can plunk down an ilon and poll the LON devices for data. (simply stated).

If you have non comm5 network than you would have to either use a gateway from bacnet IP to LON, or write a bacnet driver in the ilon and/or utilize the web services available and have an application to get the data from the BCU.

Sounds to me if you want a server maybe another product is better to use for you right now. I thought Loytec was or IS coming out with a server. They already have a bacnet driver they use so that may be better for you.

The existing devices are on a comm4 link. They are ucm vav controllers. Also, I was told the iLon does not do Bacnet over ip. That is why I posted. I am not familiar with the Loytec product you referenced. Any more info on it?

If you would still like to use an ilon it would probably be in your interests to use a L-Gate and an ilon which I think is still less expensive than a Tridium box....

IF you pay more for a JACE than a iLon, cut your profit by the difference. Give the client a better product, they will be happier if you use it properly, and therefore you will end up with a win/win situation... :)

You will probably need to use a MP581 to convert the Comm 4 information to LON bindings. From there you can pick up the points in the Ilon. Otherwise you can use a Bacnet/IP to LON fieldserver bridge to change all of the information over to LON.
