Does anyone know what the capacity of a tracker panel is? ie. how many units can be put on one panel. It is my understanding that you can have up to 20 units on one tracker panel but Trane is saying they would have to hook their proprietary software to the panel to turn on this feature to allow 20 units. Is this a scam or ploy to make money off of this job? Thanks, Doug

The Trane Tracker 12 - 12 devices
Tracker 24 - 24 devices
Tracker WSHP - 105 devices

The model 12 & 24 cannot communicate with the WSHP and Vice-Versa.

Older versions of Tracker have different capacities.

Thanks Heatxfer and dapper for the replies. We want to add six units to an existing tracker system four of which require the ZN517 boards and two that need a lon card. Trane is giving the run around because they dont want us to do the job. This pdf will allow me to check the controller and know if they are shooting me straight or not.

It is as simple as what panel you have Like some one told you a Tracker 12 = 12 devices, 24 same, you do not need Trane at this time, unless you are out of room, If so buy a Tracker 24, if you have a 12 and you are out of Room, If you are going larger than that Change it out to Summit or Tridium. You should be able to get your Trane Sales man to get you any documentation you need, But Remember if you look on your PC under Start, Programs, Trane Light Commercial, you will find the PDF docs there for what you have, Trane does not hide the information on Trackers, because they want contractors to use them. At least that is how they are in our area.

OK Guys, New question. I have determined that I have a Tracker 12 version 12.20. I will need to go to a Tracker 24 panel in order to have the capacity the customer needs.(need 13 scc's). Do you have to replace the entire panel or is there an upgrade board I can purchase to replace the center module without replacing the display module? If there is an upgrade board, any part numbers will be appreciated.

Yes just replace the main module, the display and base plate are fine.
