This may sound stupid. I suspect that there is lots of moisture or something in my system so I have installed an HH style Suction Line Filter Drier. I work for an air conditioning manufacturer and I have never had to use on of these before. Can someone explain to me about the pressure drop? The filter drier already had one access valve on the end opposite the compressor and I installed an access valve on the side of the compressor. Which side of the drier should have a higher pressure? Should this be checked while unit is running? Thanks in advance.

Yes you should check it while it is running and you should have no more than 2 psi loss across the drier....

Thanks for the responses guys. That answers my question, but it looks like I have to change it out again, I have an 8 psi pressure drop.
