You draw boxes with Wrightsoft, enter numbers for Elite which one do you want to do?

I learned Elite when it was DOS based, I prefer to enter numbers. But if oyu want be able to do both Elite has a draw program you can add to their program.

You can down load a trial version of both for free. I'd recommend you do that, and if you can't figure out how to navigate it call tech support. Then buy the one who gives you the best support :).

I really like the manual entry mode for Elite. I use it nearly every day.

However, I got to play with a full-blown Right Suite at Comfortech. Wow. It's nice.

Love Wrightsoft. Getting ready for a 2 day training course in Iowa end of jan. The only negative is the learning curve is rather steep.

The other ACCA approved software is Nitek. It supposed to be the fastest for speed of entry, but when you use their pre-defined selections for materials you could end up mis- calculating your loads.

Whatever software you use... Garbage in, Garbage out.

I use Writesoft and like it. Getting used to the draw program took a while, but it was worth it. Our local power company uses it also.

Ive gotten pretty good with wrightsoft but still cant draw multi dimensional rooms, not sure if it's possible :(

Wrightsoft all the way. I agree that the learning curve is pretty steep; I've been using it for 4 years and I learn new things every day. Once you can use it fluently, it's truly an amazing program. It's an invaluable tool. Their training videos on their website make it really easy to learn.
