Is this a good model #

50qd06620va

think unit is 14 years old

Serial # is barely visible.

can you get a model # from the serial #?

possible serial 1493G26364

There should be a sticker in or around the elecrical compartment with the #s on it. The mod #s dont sound right to me.

93 in the serial should indicate a '93 model if correct.

Did you look in the control panel for model/serial? Carrier often has it on a sticker in there too, in addition to the outdoor plate.

You could have carrier fax you the literature on the 'suspect' model#.

'''''50qd06620va''''''

50=rtu

qd= should be there, but not sure if it would be qd or 2 other letters. Significant i think, but not sure what they represent. Sometimes indicates a difference in heating type.

06= missing a digit, perhaps 006? that would be a 5 ton.

620= 480 volt

va= 2 digits belong there, don't know the signifigance of them, probably not important.

No such luck inside the cabinet (the electrical cover is completely missing). I found this model # on the unit next to the one I was working on. I went over it 5 times and it is the correct model # written on the unit (it was actually pretty readable) oh by the way it is 006 not 06 for 5 ton. That was a typo. I'll keep searching. Thanks for the input.
